Welcome to Sciences Po Saint-Germain !

Established in 2013, Sciences Po Saint-Germain welcomes its students to an attractive campus in Saint-Germain-en Laye, conveniently only 30 minutes west of downtown Paris. Our Institut des Sciences Politiques (“Sciences Po” for short), like its sister IEPs, offers an ambitious five-year program of multidisciplinary study that demands excellence and prepares students for professional life. During their third year, our students study abroad at one of 70 partner universities on four continents.
Admissions are selective, based on performance on competitive exams. Every year, 10,000 candidates sit for these exams.
With a student body of nearly 500 and a teaching staff of 151 academics and professionals, Sciences Po offers a demanding course of study enriched by research and open onto the world. Students benefit from a strong curriculum of social sciences (political science, law, history and economics) as well as innovative learning paths devoted to the arts & humanities, international cooperation or data culture. The program stresses foreign languages as well as long internships at business entities or institutions starting in the fourth year.
Sciences Po Saint-Germain also plays an active role in furthering social justice and the democratization of access to France’s selective, excellence-based grandes écoles. We extend opportunities to students from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds, working with thirty lycées in lower-income neighborhoods in the Paris area to help their students prepare for the competitive entrance exams.
Sciences Po Saint-Germain maintains close ties with its founding universities, Université de Cergy-Pontoise and Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin. We are noted for our pedagogical innovations – for instance, students planning to sit competitive exams to work in the French civil service, courts or criminal justice system benefit from our 100%-digital course of preparation – and for involving our students in the development of the school. In short, Sciences Po Saint-Germain is already a name to be reckoned with among institutions of higher learning specialized in the social sciences.
