An excellent school close to Paris, Sciences Po Saint-Germain has many strong points, both academic and non-academic. Here are good reasons to stay with us !
It’s close to Paris.
Our attractive campus is in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, a charming, historic town adjoining a large forest, only 30 minutes by train from downtown Paris and its rich cultural life.
International students can take courses in English
International students can take only english courses given in English. This is unusual for a French grande école.
Once a year, regular classes are suspended at Sciences Po Saint-Germain for a week during which students visit cultural sites, attend lectures and take part in events organized by student associations. Events Week is a highlight of school life, much appreciated by students.
Smaller groups for seminars
For the school year 2018-2019, Sciences Po Saint-Germain will be instigating a major pedagogical reform. The number of students in each seminar will be halved to facilitate learning, class participation and individual progress. There will only be 10 to 12 students in each group.
Introduction to French sign language
French sign language, used by more than 100,000 people in France. For the first time, it will be offered at Sciences Po Saint-Germain in 2018-2019. FSL will be available to all students, from first- to fifth-year. It is not only an academic and professional asset, but will raise students’ awareness of what “living disabled” is like and introduce them to deaf culture.
Classes and workshops open to all students
Classes in certain subjects (e.g. rare languages like Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese and Russian) and math workshops are open to all students (first- to fifth-year).
Innovative learning paths
In addition to the regular multidisciplinary core curriculum in the social sciences, Sciences Po Saint-Germain-en-Laye works with professionals to create innovative, theme-based learning paths in areas that will appeal to students (e.g. international cooperation, data culture or the arts & humanities). An ongoing co-constructive approach that gets students involved
Since only a small number of students are admitted each year, our staff can get to know them, engage in discussion and share ideas. Students evaluate each of their classes and may suggest additions to the curriculum. Sought-for and encouraged, this collaborative approach is a major asset, consistent with the Sciences Po values of open-mindedness.
