Sciences Po Saint-Germain-en-Laye belongs to a network of seven IEPs – with sister schools in Aix-en-Provence, Lille, Lyons, Rennes, Strasbourg and Toulouse – that was first set up in 2008. Every year, 10,000 candidates sit for a common set of examinations, hoping to gain admission to one of them. Students are admitted on the basis of their performance on these exams.
Traditionally focused on multidisciplinarity, international study and openness, these seven IEPs have facilitated the admissions process for baccalaureate-holding candidates by holding a single set of common exams, instead of having each school organize its own admission tests. This enables candidates to sit for the exams at the school closest to their place of residence.
Networking has allowed the seven IEPs to raise the national and international visibility of their academic programs.
