Why Sciences Po Saint-Germain-en-Laye ?

Our strenghts and reasons to choose Sciences Po Saint-Germain-en-Laye

Discover Paris, its stunning architecture, monuments, its wealth of museums and exhibitions; attend conferences, shows and ground-breaking performances. Dive into French ‘art de vivre’: bakeries, open-air food markets, café culture, gastronomy, fashion etc.

You are looking for an exchange program in France but you hardly speak French? It’s not an issue: thanks to our extended course catalogue in English, you can study a whole year and validate the ECTS credits requested by your home university with English-taught classes only.

How to better enjoy life in France than to be able to discuss directly with the locals? Sciences Po Saint-Germain offers free French classes for beginner, intermediate and advanced students, 5 hours a week, with a focus on communication skills.

Sciences Po Saint-Germain is a French ‘grande école’, a highly selective institution of higher education. The rigorous curriculum invites students to deepen their knowledge and understanding in the core subjects of social sciences.
Our main subjects are Political Science, International Relations, Law, Economics, Sociology and History. The combination of lectures and electives allows you to explore these subjects from different angles.

With only about 120 students per year, it is easy to get to know each other. Teachers and administrative staff are close to the students, ready to answer your questions and to support you during your studies here.

Our school has pioneered a program to discover contemporary art and performances, where students can register for guided tours of exhibits as well as evening shows at our partner theatres (Théâtre National de Chaillot, La Villette, …) and meet the artists afterwards. Interested international students are welcome in the program.

Our students associations cover many areas of interest: the media, arts, solidarity, sports, debating,… They organize events on campus and off campus in Saint-Germain, in France and trips abroad. The ‘Forum des Associations’ in September is a great opportunity to get to know them.

In a 3.7-acre park (12,000 sqm) , the listed gritstone buildings from the early 20th century show their Art Nouveau influence. They house the classrooms, administration, faculty and library.

We are located in a typically French city, lively and full of charm, and very international as well. It is only 30 minutes away from the heart of Paris by public transportation.

Once you are in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, why not discover France and even Europe? Thanks to the dense train and flights networks across Europe, long week-ends and university breaks are a perfect travelling opportunity.
