You are graduating from high school and plan to do your higher education in France in the social sciences. 

Who can apply?

The entrance exam is open to students :

  • who will have obtained a high school diploma at the start of the academic year following their application
  • or who have obtained a high school diploma at the end of the academic year prior to their application
  • with at least a B2 certificate in French

Application procedure and calendar

There are two ways into Sciences Po Saint-Germain in 1st year : through the competitive entrance exam (90% of places approximately) or admission based on academic file.

Competitive entrance exam


Application is solely on Parcoursup, the French national online platform managing applications to all universities and most other institutions of higher education. Applications start in January.

In April, all applicants sit the ‘concours commun’, a 3-part written exam (Philosophy and History in French, and English) shared by seven Sciences Po in France. There are several exam centers in France and overseas. Applicants are ranked according to their overall mark; your admission in Sciences Po Saint-Germain will be based on your ranking.

If you didn’t take the entrance exam, or if you failed, but got an excellent grade for your high-school diploma, there are still ways to be admitted.
