Overview of the studies

Sciences Po Saint-Germain offers undergraduate (3-year) and graduate (or Master’s, 2-year) programs.

Undergraduate program

The first two years of the degree are dedicated to learning the fundamentals of political science, law, contemporary history, sociology and economics in order to acquire a solid foundation in social sciences.

It aims to build a capacity for critical analysis of the contemporary world through the learning of a rigorous methodology.

In addition to the English language, the study of one foreign language is complusory.

Undergraduate students are encouraged to take electives outside of the core curriculum, because policy issues are becoming more complex and are best approached from a variety of angles. ‘Soft skills’ such as communication and team work are an integral part of the learning experience.

The last year of the program is dedicated to international opening as part of an exchange program or internship abroad.

Master's degree

Sciences Po Saint-Germain-en-Laye offer specialization in the 4th year of the diploma among :
  • International and European Affairs
  • Law and Public Policy
  • Culture and Communication
  • Management, Economy and Finance

The courses take place at Sciences Po Saint-Germain-en-Laye from the beginning of September to the end of February and are extended by a complusory long-term internship (4 to 6 months).

In the 5th year, students specialize further by choosing one of the Master’s degrees of one of Sciences Po Saint-Germain-en-Laye partner institutions. Therefore, at the end of the five years, all students receive a double degree.

Furthemore, we have partnered with prestigious institutions to create highly-specialized double diplomas.
